The start of June means summer is near! As most kids are on summer break and families are spending more time outdoors, we’ve put together a list of projects to spruce your home up just in time for summer!
Hang Outdoor String Lights – Outdoor string lights will give your space the perfect ambiance for entertaining and enjoying summer nights outdoors. Be sure the lights are weather resistant and for an easy installation and removal, attach the lights with carabiners and screw eyes. This will last much longer than the plastic hooks and non-weather resistant lights!
Clean & Refresh Your Grill – While you should regularly check your barbeque grill, the beginning of summer, a.k.a barbeque season, is the perfect time to give your grill a good cleaning especially if you haven’t used it for several months! Use a specially formulated grill cleaner to wipe the grime away.
Update your Patio Furniture – Even a small patio space or outdoor area can pop with the right patio furniture! If you already have patio furniture, replace the cushions, add some throw pillows, potted plants, and a rug to your space to make it feel cozy and homey. If you have some woodworking skills, you could even DIY a fire pit or day bed. Having the right sized pieces will make all the difference in your outdoor space.
Improve Ventilation in Your Home – You can improve not only your ventilation but also the lighting in your home by installing a ceiling fan. This can help save on AC unit costs and help keep your family comfortable during these warmer months.
Repair & Replace Your Windows – Adding caulk to seal doors and windows can help you save on energy bill significantly! If your windows are older, replacing them with newer ones will also help and give your home a new clean look! We often don’t realize how big of a difference new windows can make.
